With the onset of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), it has exposed a general lack of security within the job market. How would you pay your bills if you had to stop working because of the Coronavirus? The thought may make you feel insecure because you are in zero-hour contract or self-employed. If that is the case, it may be time to start planning a new career.
It may seem daunting at first, as you may not be sure what it is you want to do or could do; but take your time in planning this move. I would recommend that you start writing a list of what you want from your ideal job, and identify if you have the required skills or experience or whether you need to undertake further training. Break the list into manageable segments (goals), and start working through them one by one. It does not matter if it takes one year or five years, continue to move forward, and you will eventually achieve your goal.
